Our client is a respected and accomplished supplier in
the wireless and telecommunications industries and has been developing wireless IP/products
and solutions for commercial, industrial, defense and public safety markets since the 90's.
Introduction:
Build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify developmental and
production electronic components, boards, and systems. Apply principles
and theories of electronics, electrical circuitry, engineering
mathematics, electronic and electrical testing. Usually work under the
direction of engineering staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assemble,
test, and maintain circuitry or electronic components according to
engineering instructions, technical manuals, and knowledge of
electronics, using hand and power tools.
Read schematic
drawings and engineering instructions for assembling electronics units,
applying knowledge of electronic theory and components.
Build prototypes from rough sketches or plans.
Test
electronics units, using standard test equipment, and analyze results
to evaluate performance and determine need for adjustment.
Adjust
and replace defective or improperly functioning circuitry and
electronics components, using hand tools and soldering iron.
Identify
and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with manufacturers and
field representatives as necessary to procure replacement parts.
Maintain documentation of testing and equipment operation.
Perform preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment and systems.
Procure parts and maintain inventory and related documentation.
Research equipment and component needs, sources, competitive prices, delivery times, and operational costs.
Write reports and record data on testing techniques, laboratory equipment, and specifications to assist engineers.
Provide
customer support and education, working with users to identify needs,
determine sources of problems and to provide information on product use
Education and/or Experience:
Associate's
degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school;
or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or
equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills:
Knowledge of Window XP operating system and Microsoft application software including Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
Developmental Skills:
Candidate
must possess the ability to solve complex problems and deal with a
variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization
exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Individual must display original thinking and creativity; meeting challenges with resourcefulness in a timely manner.
Individual should have the ability to make significant self-directed individual contribution with little or no supervision.
Must have the ability to deal effectively with people, peers, managers, and customers.
