Balance of Plant Engineering Project Manager responsibilities will include:
  • Moderately complex single to multi-product line projects; from Business Development to proposal development and award through execution and project closer.
  • Business development, planning, scheduling and control of project activities to achieve project objectives.
  • Work with Regional Manager's to develop customer contacts.  
CONTRIBUTION LEVEL
  • Customer: Manages the client, ensuring effective business relationships are in place and are trusted by the client. Acts as a focal point for communications with the customer for business development and project execution.
  • Process: Utilizes low to moderate risk modifications of existing proven technology/methods to find a solution to address client's need.
  • Employee: Defines and forecasts the necessary skills and work arrangements to support the objectives of the project.
  • Finance: Manages cash flow and achieves expected cash position. 
  • Site Assignments: Limited site assignment.
Typical Projects Your Group may Work On: 
  • Operating plant BOP systems and components
  • Safety related modifications for new and replacement equipment, including valves,heat exchangers,containment sump
  • Calculations supporting major component changeouts
  • Project Management on work involving various Business Units and Sectors  
The position will involve Project Management of projects up to $10M in revenue spanning up to two years. The position will interact with various business units within our clients organization involved in the overall project scope. The Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of project direction and performance, including schedule, cost control, technical content, contract negotiation and quality.  The Project Manager is responsible for maintaining as bid margins on the projects assigned.  A significant part of the Project Management role will be the development of new opportunities for Plant Engineering work scope. This includes working with our clients Regional Managers to develop customer relations. This will involve the development of proposals, client presentations and securing contracts for the work awarded; 30 % travel will be required with site assignments. The individual will support both Plant Engineering led proposals as well as other NEBU led proposals containing Plant Engineering workscope. Frequent and accurate management interaction and communication is required.  The Project Manager position will also become engaged with international work, including, but not limited to, British Energy and Japanese reactors. Some international travel will be needed.

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity.  Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.

  •  
    • BS in either a business or technical discipline plus 10-12 years of related project engineering or project management experience. An advanced degree (MBA) may substitute for 1-2 years of related work experience
    • If BS in non-technical area, must have worked in engineering/technical field for at least 5 years
    • Demonstrated prior project management experience is required, A PMP or Bechtel PM certification is desired
    • The applicant will need to be willing to gain a PMP certification in the first year, if not certified
    • Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge in particular field of specialization to the completion of significant assignments.
    • Has well-developed leadership qualities
    • Crosses fields 
The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.
  • Project Management (PMP) desired or Bechtel Corporate Project Manager Certification

  • Professional Engineering License desired

  • Experienced with Counselor Salesperson processes and experience in Decision Mapping processes is recommended

  • Nuclear or related energy industry is desired

  • Experienced in contract negotiations, contract values in millions of dollars 

Travel
30 % travel will be required with site assignments. Some international travel will be needed.
