Our client has an exciting opportunity for an Account Director in their Medical Communications office located in Northeastern US.  Our client provides comprehensive product commercialization at all stages of the product development life cycle: from Phase II, through national and international product launches to ongoing support, extending into generating noise about established products.
 
The Account Director has global responsibility for managing clients’ marketing communications programs from concept development through program delivery, assuring that clients’ objectives are met in terms of program quality and on-time delivery.
 
Responsibilities include:
  • Day-to-day client contact to identify and translate marketing objectives into strategic medical communications programs.
  • Developing ideas for programs and time and events for executing these programs
  • Developing proposals, budgets, estimates of job cost, and profitability
  • Lead a team of Account Managers, Project Managers and Marketing Associates through guidance, delegation, and follow-up and significant interaction with the client.
  • Collaborating with editorial and creative teams to develop marketing/communications strategies and program content
  • Lead brainstorming sessions to develop ideas for programs
  • Working with New Business Development Teams to develop proposals, budgets, and presenting company capabilities/business pitches to clients
  • Serve as liaison and lend support to Business Development Team including participating in business development brainstorming meetings; Developing new business presentations and proposals; Attending business pitches with the Business Development Team, generating new business leads
  • Proactively identify ways to improve MAC as a company including Developing & rolling-out Account Team training workshops and mentoring Account Managers and Project Managers
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, biology and/or chemistry; Master’s Degree in health related area or marketing desirable.

  • Ability to define and respond to client needs, working effectively under tight deadlines

  • Significant client management experience

  • Two years’ management experience

  • Strong verbal/written communications, organizational, and technical skills with absolute commitment to quality

  • Self-motivated, team player, able to take initiative & act independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Three years’ related pharmaceutical marketing, communications, or health education experience
